Loopie

Privacy

Short, plain-language notes for parents about what Loopie stores today.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

The short version

  • Kids use a Loopie name (nickname), not a phone number.
  • Friends are a closed list — both sides add each other.
  • Optional parent email + PIN helps the same nickname work across devices.
  • We do not sell kids’ data or run stranger discovery / public search.

What we store

  • Nickname — the Loopie name chosen on this device (or restored with parent email + PIN).
  • Device / browser keys — hashed identifiers so this browser or app can recognize the nickname session.
  • Friends list — which Loopie names this nickname has added.
  • Optional parent email — only if a family chooses cross-device signup / sign-in. Used for verification and PIN reset codes, not for marketing lists.
  • PIN — stored as a one-way hash (not plain text), when set.
  • Call-related signals — for example whether a room is open, and missed-call style notices so a kid can see who tried to visit.
  • Optional push tokens — if a family uses a Loopie mobile build that enables notifications.
  • Product events — lightweight server events (e.g. claimed a name, feedback) to keep Loopie working and improve it.

What we don’t require for kids

  • No phone number for the child to claim a Loopie name.
  • No public profile directory or “find people near you.”
  • No social feed, DMs with strangers, or open chat rooms.

Calls and media

Real-time audio/video goes through a calling provider (LiveKit) so friends can talk in the browser. Loopie is not designed to keep a library of call recordings for parents or kids to replay later.

Analytics on the website

The public site may use privacy-minded analytics (including Vercel Analytics and a site analytics script) to understand which pages help families. This is about the product, not selling ads against kids.

To measure our ads, Loopie uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and cookies, and sends page-visit, sign-up, and add-a-friend events to Meta. These include your IP address, browser type, and a random ID — never your child’s Loopie name, contact info, or calls.

Your choices

  • Clear or change a nickname on this device anytime.
  • Only add friends you trust; both sides must add each other.
  • Skip optional parent email if you only need Loopie on one browser.
  • Questions or deletion requests: privacy@loopie.club

Changes

If what we store changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update this page and aim to keep the language parent-readable. See also Terms and For parents.
